It has been a while since I have had exciting mail. but in the last week I have had some undyed yarn arrive, as well as this gorgeous bundle from Red Riding Hood Yarns. I’m in love xx

It may appear I have neglected this blog, and I guess in a sense I have, but only because I have been busy, busy, busy!!
I returned to uni this semester studying a 3/4 load (so not quite full time); have committed to a number of markets etc where I hope to sell some knitting; and have generally tried to spend a lot less time on the computer, and more time with my kids, or cooking for my family….oh, and watching the Olympics!!

Here are some images to show what I have been up to, and I promise I will try to post a little more regularly xx

K is for KNITTING!!! Yay!! I have been waiting for this one to come along……and regular readers were probably expecting this one too 😉

I had a great Saturday. It started off with the eldest daughter playing soccer on a beautifully sunny morning…

and it ended with an afternoon kicking back with the yarn and needles, sipping on some yummy iced green tea

It was a lovely relaxing Saturday….should be more of them!

What did you get up to?

As we head further into Autumn, and we need to pull out some warmer clothing, it is increasingly apparent that my girls need some knitty love from their Mum, and I think this needs to be in the form of a shrug.

Shrugs are such versatile little garments, and can be worn over a number of different tops and dresses: long-sleeved; short-sleeved; sleeveless; strapless etc. Shrugs can be lightweight and pretty, or thicker for warmth….and still pretty 😉 This pattern, Puffy Sleeved Shrug (which happens to be my own design), is somewhere in between.

I think this will be a fantastic addition to the girls’ wardrobes, as it adds a wonderfully girly touch to an outfit with its puffed sleeves. I think it will look great over a top and teamed with a skirt, leggings, and some funky boots.

The hardest thing will be deciding on yarn and colour I think! Hopefully all these examples below will provide some inspiration. These were all created by a bunch of wonderfully talented ladies during the testing phase of my pattern, and are all absolutely beautiful xx

What do you think will make a great addition to a little girls’ wardrobe this Autumn/Winter?
